Toshiba is ready to start start selling two new hard drives that are designed for desktop computers and offer increased capacity.
We are talking about the internal 3.5-inch model with a spindle speed of 7200 RPM, which have a volume of 4 and 5 TB and connected via Serial ATA 3.0.
The Japanese manufacturer has implemented in their new drives technologies, such as Perpendicular Magnetic Recording (PMR, is responsible for perpendicular recording data on the hard disk), Native Command Queuing (NCQ, is responsible for Command Queuing) and TMR Head Recording (magnetic tunnel recording head, responsible for the reliability and performance).
New products from Toshiba is compatible with operating systems Windows 8.1, Windows 8 and Windows 7; Mac OS X 10.6, 10.7, 10.8 and 10.9; and Linux.
Hard drives are now on US retail sales, where the cost of low-end model is $ 299 and older – $ 399.
