According to sources, Intel has pushed several release dates of the next generation of server processors, giving customers more time to prepare for the transition to the new platform.
Processors Haswell-EX (Xeon E7 v3) and Haswell-EP4S (Xeon E5-4600 v3) will be presented in the second quarter of next year.
In the third quarter, a model at microarchitecture Skylake, including Xeon E3-1280 v5 and E3-1200 v5, intended for workstations and entry-level servers. Then shall appear the series processors Xeon E3-1200 v4 (Broadwell by LGA1150).
As for SoC series Xeon D and Atom C, Intel plans in the second quarter of 2015 to release a new series of Broadwell-DE. This will allow the company to strengthen its position in the segment mikroserverov where it is now represented by models Intel Atom C2750 and C2350.
In preparation for the release of new models in the current quarter from the second quarter of 2015 Intel is going to remove some of its range of server processors series Itanium, Xeon, Xeon Phi m Atom.
