And now’s Wccftech published some interesting data about SoC, as well as the processor architecture Goldmont, also in Class 14-nm solutions. Recall that these single-chip systems are designed for smartphones and tablet computers.
So, Airmont processors would replace the current 22-nanometer chips Silvermont, while decisions on the architecture Goldmont expected next year. These chips are projected to bring with them increased productivity and efficiency, and reduce energy consumption, which is especially important for portable electronics. In this case, the kernel will Airmont inside SoC codenamed Cherry Trail, which, in turn, will work at 2.7 GHz and support memory LPDDR3 / DDR3L 1600.
In turn, the architecture aims to Goldmont application processors, code-named Willow Trail for high-end tablets. The structure of these SoC cores will quartet plus new generation of graphics and memory controller or LPDDR3 LPDDR4, as well as wireless modem. These chips can be used in gadgets running Windows and Android, as well as in systems with feature Dual OS.
