Particularly dangerous: Sony recalls laptops due to their fire batteries

    Sony is recalling its new batch of laptops that have detected a problem with the battery, writes gadget news blog
    Review relates to laptops VAIO Fit, as batteries in the model (made by Panasonic) may overheat and cause fires. It is about 26 thousand units sold in recent months around the world.

    The Sony urge all those who managed to buy a model Vaio Fit 11A as soon as possible to stop using laptop. The company noted that already happened three times when the gadget has become a cause of the fire. The first took place in Japan on March 19, the second – in Hong Kong on April 8.

    All computers at risk will be calculated according to their serial numbers, then the company will launch a program to replace the models. Over the coming weeks at Sony will all the necessary information for users who purchased substandard laptops.

    The Sony noted that sold 25,905 units worldwide and apologized to all buyers. In Panasonic declined to comment on what other electronics manufacturers got faulty batteries from the same series, citing the fact that the information is a trade secret.
