Panasonic will initiate a review 43,140 batteries for laptops because of three cases of overheating and fire, according to Reuters. As he says Japanese IT-giant, replacing defective batteries will be free of charge, and the reason for that was a problem in the manufacturing process, which took place from April to July 2011. Review covers the model CF-VZSU60AJS, CF-VZSU61AJS, CF-VZSU64AJS, CF-S10 and CF-N10.

reported that two of these incidents happened in Japan, and another – in Thailand. Fortunately, in this case no one was hurt, but Panasonic, apparently decided not to tempt fate and not to bring the case to litigation in the event of serious injury and burns from fire battery. Well, this approach can only be welcomed.
We note that Panasonic had recently been restructuring its business, shifting the focus from the consumer market, subject to fluctuations in demand, to other areas with more stable earnings. One such area is the production of batteries for electric vehicles, which are now growing in popularity.
