    Frio Silent 12

    Thermaltake Frio Silent 12 is compatible with all platforms, without exception, and the installation procedure it does not differ fundamentally from the Frio Extreme Silent 14 Dual, only the pressure plate is a little different.

    The cooler is narrow, so to prevent the RAM module is unlikely to be able to, even despite the fact that when you install it on the fan away from its lower edge to the motherboard is only 19 mm.

    Test configuration, tools and methods of test

    Comparison of the effectiveness of cooling systems was carried out in the case the following configuration:

    To carry out basic tests on the six-core processor support 100 MHz at a fixed value of 44 in the multiplier and the function is activated, Load-Line Calibration was overclocked to 4.4 GHz with an increase in tension in the motherboard’s BIOS to 1,240-1,245 In.

    • Intel Extreme Tuning Utility v4.2.0.8 – for monitoring and surveillance of all system parameters during acceleration.

    CPU load created by two consecutive cycles of LinX AVX with the above settings. To stabilize the temperature of the processor cycles allotted between 8-10 minutes. For the final result, which you can see in the diagram, adopted the maximum temperature of the hottest of the six CPU cores in the peak load and idle.

    Furthermore, in a separate table are given temperature of the processor cores, and their average values. The room temperature is controlled next to the system with an electronic thermometer with measurement accuracy 0,1 ° C and the ability to monitor changes in the hourly room temperature for 6 hours. During this test the ambient temperature ranged 21,9-22,4 ° C.

    The noise level of the cooling was carried out by an electronic sound level meter CENTER-321 in the period of one to three hours a night in a completely closed room about 20 m 2 fiberglass.     Test results and analysis

    Cooling efficiency

    Noise level

    From the measurements, contrary to our expectations, Thermaltake Frio Silent 12 and Frio Silent 14 does not have the best noise level among the participants of today’s test.
