Notebook shipments albeit slowly, but grow; the most popular are the 15-inch model

    In the third quarter of 2014 were shipped 45.2 million notebooks (excluding devices “2-in-1”), experts estimate Digitimes Research. This is 6.4% more than in the previous quarter, and 2.6% higher than a year ago.

    For the first place in the notebook market struggling, HP and Lenovo, which provided 21% and 20.9% of global supplies. They are followed by the company Dell (12,5%), Acer (9,7%), Apple (8,5%), Asustek Computer (8,3%) and Toshiba (6,2%).

    The lion’s share of mobile computers collect Taiwanese ODM. In absolute terms, it is 36,958,000 shares, corresponding to 81.77% of all deliveries. Analysts noted that the quarter deliveries rose by 6.1%, while compared to the previous year decreased by 2.9%.

    The world’s largest contract manufacturer of laptops is a Taiwanese company Quanta Computer. Its share is 34.6%. In second place is Compal Electronics (32,2%), the third – Wistron (15,7%), the fourth – Inventec (6,7%), in the fifth – Pegatron (5,7%).

    The most popular are the 15-inch model. Their share is 47.2%. Share models with a screen size of less than 12 inches is 8.2% to 12 inches – 2.9%, 13 inch – 13%, 14 inch – 22.7%, 16 inches or more – 6.1%.
