This beetle Meloidae photographed using Macropod – the latest imaging technology, which allows you to remove all the restrictions of depth of field characteristic of the macro.
Macropod takes multiple exposures of the image and glue them into one image using SUPER software. Thus technology is superior to the limit depth of field inherent in optics designed for shooting small objects.
Macropod lets you select and make a few exposures along the depth axis, overriding focus on the area of each exposure with previous and next. These images are then transmitted to a computer and combined into one image using special software that finds and glues focused pixels from each exposure into one image. Voila!
