LG Display – production unit of the South Korean giant, specializing in the development of displays – informed about the news that will certainly please fans of smartphones from LG. In particular, LG Display officially announced the successful certification of the 5.5-inch QHD-display. It is predicted that this display will be used in the upcoming flagship LG G3. Moreover, in a press release clearly states that this ultrachetky display will be used in “G-series successor”.
LG conducted certification of its new display, which is characterized by a resolution of 1440×2560 pixels and a density of 538 ppi, a Norwegian organization NEMKO. Reported that the 5.5-inch thickness of the panel is only 1.2 mm, while the side frame attain just 1.15 mm. It is 0.05 mm thinner than last year’s flagship panels LG.
New panel in the nearest time will go into mass production. If the new displays will be applied exactly in LG G3, then this smartphone will be the first solution with QHD-Released in the U.S. market. At the same time, LG will be able to slightly ahead of his eternal rival – Samsung with its upcoming Galaxy S5 Prime.
