ARM company offers a platform for “smart home” and the Internet of Things (Internet of Things, IoT) based on its operating system mbed OS.
The platform is based on open source and allows the use of standard communication protocols to create an integrated solution. OS includes the full functionality of providing communication, protection and control devices that are required for each “smart” gadget.
As the hardware platform used by ARM recently introduced a new processor Cortex M7, which is characterized by low power consumption. The elements of the platform provide the union of different devices in a single integrated complex.
In this case the operating system will support all current standards today – Bluetooth Smart, 2G, 3G, LTE, CDMA, Wi-Fi, 802.15.4 / 6LoWPAN, TLS / DTLS, CoAP, HTTP, MQTT, Lightweight M2M, including just recently declared but not yet existing Thread.
